MoB3 → BUFM Parameter Bridge

Status: v0.1
Date: 11 July 2026
Parent Task: [M3.6] emob-models Alignment
Home Repo: emob-financial-models — authoritative source for BUFM parameters
Purpose: Map every MoB3 strategic concept to the BUFM financial parameters that operationalize it.

What This Document Is

The parameter bridge between MoB3 strategy and BUFM financial models. When a geographic output (Tanzania pricing, Nigeria whitepaper) needs to quantify a MoB3 concept, this document tells you which BUFM parameters to use.

Rule: MoB3 defines WHY. BUFM defines HOW MUCH. This bridge defines WHICH PARAMETERS.

└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘

Commercial models define the business process: who does what, how products flow through channels, which partners are needed, what the operator experience looks like in a specific market.

Financial models define the money: what each participant invests, earns, and retains. The profit pool is the sum of all participant margins — this is what attracts investors.

A business model without financial metrics is a story. Financial metrics without a business model is a spreadsheet. MoB3 requires both.

2. F2A Solution Matrix → BUFM Parameters

Each cell in the MoB3 strategy matrix maps to specific BUFM parameters and commercial model configurations.

Friction A: ICoE — High Initial Cost

Strategy Cell BUFM Parameter(s) Commercial Model
R1: Local assembly Batt_FOB_Cost (BCS), Batt_Import_Tax (BCS), Batt_Shipping (BCS). Local assembly reduces landed cost by eliminating/reducing import duties and freight. Product taxonomy (emob-commercial): which components are locally assembled vs. imported. Channel design: assembly partner network.
R2: BaaS/CaaS Swap_Price_Day (BCS), Swap_Price_Target (BCS). Battery separated from vehicle purchase reduces operator ICoE. Service bundle design: what's included in BaaS subscription. Partner revenue split.
R3: Solar home-charging EPS_PV_COST_FOB (EPS), EPS_PV_INSTALL_COST (EPS). Solar CapEx amortized into PAYG structure. EPS_LCOE → near-zero marginal after CapEx. Energy bundle pricing (Bart's model): prepaid kWh packages.
Platform: RWA + PAYG Bike_Cost (VRS), Batt_Total_CapEx (BCS), ICoE (composite). PAYG parameters: deposit %, daily installment, path-to-ownership months. PAYG contract design. On-chain credit scoring from vehicle usage data.

Friction B: ATES — Access to e-Fuel Services

Strategy Cell BUFM Parameter(s) Commercial Model
R1: Interoperable batteries Batt_Capacity (BCS), Depth_Of_Discharge (BCS), Charge_Efficiency (BCS). Standardized parameters enable any network to serve any vehicle. Battery standards registry. Interoperability certification.
R2: Competitive swap networks SNS_RACK_COST (SNS), SNS_BAYS_PER_STATION (SNS), SNS_BAY_UTILIZATION (SNS), SNS_STATION_COUNT (SNS). Multiple providers → market-set Swap_Price_Day via DS layer. Agent vs. OVES station design. Agent onboarding and revenue split template.
R2: Home-charging EPS_LCOE (EPS) with operator-level solar. EPS_PEAK_SUN_HOURS determines viability per market. Home-charging kit as product SKU. Installation partner network.
Platform: DS marketplace DS layer parameters: PRICE × AMOUNT + Utilization across all providers. Multi-provider marketplace governance. Pricing rules.

Friction C: EPGD — Power Infrastructure

Strategy Cell BUFM Parameter(s) Commercial Model
R3: In-situ solar generation EPS_PV_COST_FOB (EPS), EPS_PV_INSTALL_COST (EPS), EPS_PEAK_SUN_HOURS (EPS), EPS_SYSTEM_DERATE (EPS). Solar installation partner network. Community microgrid design.
R3: C&I ESS + second-life batteries EPS_BATTERY_EFFICIENCY (EPS), battery cycle life (BCS), Batt_Selloff_Ratio (BCS). Second-life residual value reduces ESS CapEx. Second-life battery certification. ESS marketplace.
R3: Wealth-generation Not a financial parameter — a strategic outcome measured by: operator income increase (\(/day), community energy revenue (\)/month), local jobs created. Community partnership models. Surplus energy sales contracts.
Platform: EPS coordination Multi-source EPS_LCOE comparison. Carbon credit calculation: daily_energy × grid emission factor × carbon price. Carbon credit distribution smart contract.

3. Profit Pool Structure — Who Makes What

The financial model answers: how does each participant make money, and is the total pool attractive to investors?

Participant Revenue Stream BUFM Parameter Margin Driver
Operator Fare revenue − (energy cost + financing + maintenance) VRS: Fuel_Price savings, Elec_Price_Rider, Swap_Cost_Day Daily savings vs. petrol ($3-5/day baseline)
Manufacturer/Assembler Vehicle sales margin Bike_Cost (VRS) − assembly cost Localization %, volume
Battery Operator Swap subscription + energy margin Swap_Price_Day × Swaps_Per_Day + (Elec_Sell_Price − Elec_Purchase_Cost) × daily_energy Utilization_Rate, battery longevity
Network Agent Revenue share of swap fees Agent commission % × Swap_Price_Day × swaps at station Station utilization, local demand density
Power Provider Energy sales to network + surplus to community EPS_LCOE vs. sell price spread Solar yield (EPS_PEAK_SUN_HOURS), storage efficiency
Platform (OVES) Platform fee (% of transaction volume) + carbon credit share + RWA issuance fees Platform fee %, carbon revenue share Transaction volume, asset tokenization volume
Investor (RWA) Tokenized asset yield Asset revenue − OpEx − platform fee Asset utilization, residual value, carbon credits

Total Profit Pool Calculation

Total Profit Pool = Σ (Participant Revenue − Participant Cost) across all layers

This is the number that attracts infrastructure investors.
It must exceed the cost of capital for the pool to be sustainable.

MoB3 target: Total profit pool > 15% IRR on invested capital across all participants.

4. Market-Specific Parameterization

Each geographic output (M3.8-M3.11) applies the same BUFM structure with market-specific inputs:

Market Key Differentiating Parameters
Tanzania Fuel_Price (TZS/L), Dist_Day (km), import duty structure (25% → 10% with assembly license), EPS_PEAK_SUN_HOURS (~5.5), agent station economics (40/60 split)
Nigeria Fuel_Price (NGN/L — subsidized but volatile), population scale (200M+), Spiro battery recycling plant presence, AfCFTA implications
Kenya Fuel_Price (KES/L), Competition Authority regulatory risk, Spiro backlash context, Ampersand presence, grid reliability (moderate)
Philippines Fuel_Price (PHP/L), island geography (marine logistics for batteries), EPS_PEAK_SUN_HOURS (~4.5-5.5 varies by island), tricycle-dominant last-mile format

5. Bridge Summary — Quick Reference
